So Today Terms of Use
Last updated: October 21, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Aoide Studio LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us"), about your use of So Today (the "app"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Who can use the app
- You must be at least 13 to use the app.
- If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and the app applies extra care for younger users.
- You're responsible for keeping your phone and your email account secure, since sign-in codes are sent there.
2. What the app is, and isn't
- So Today is a voice journal with AI companions. You talk; the app keeps notes ("moments") from what you say, and the companions reflect with you.
- The companions are AI, not people. What they say is generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. Don't rely on it for decisions about your health, safety, money, legal matters or relationships.
- It isn't a medical, mental-health or crisis service, and it isn't a substitute for professional help. If you're in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or crisis line, or in the US call or text 988. The app can't contact anyone for you.
- The notes, letters and cards the app writes are AI-generated from your own moments and may misremember or get things wrong. You can correct, forget or delete them.
3. Your content
- You own what you say and add: your Talks, moments, photos and anything else you put in ("your content").
- You give us a limited licence to store, process and display your content only to run the app for you: turning speech into text, writing the companion's replies, keeping your moments, writing your notes and letters, and keeping your journal in sync. That includes sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy for those purposes.
- We don't use your content to advertise to you, and we don't sell it.
- You can export or delete your content at any time, as the Privacy Policy describes.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use the app to harm, harass or threaten anyone, or to plan or encourage violence;
- try to get the companions to produce illegal content or content sexualising minors;
- upload photos you don't have the right to share, or that show other people in ways they wouldn't agree to;
- reverse-engineer, overload or disrupt the app or our servers, or use it to build a competing service;
- use automated means to access the app, or share your account.
The app ends or limits a Talk that's being misused (for example, used for something other than reflecting on your life), and we may suspend accounts that break these terms.
5. Subscriptions and trials
- Some features need a subscription, sold through the App Store. Prices, the trial and what's included are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment and renewal are handled by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your Apple account settings. Refunds follow Apple's policies.
- We may change prices or features with notice, as Apple's rules allow.
6. Availability and changes
- We work to keep the app running, but it may be unavailable at times, and features may change or end. Your journal stays readable on your phone even when you're offline.
- If the app needs an update to keep working, it will ask you to update.
- We may update these terms. We'll tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect; continuing to use the app afterwards means you accept the new terms.
7. Ending your use
- You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time, from the app.
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we'll give you a chance to export your journal first.
8. Disclaimers and limits
- The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on what the AI companions say. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if more.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and Aoide Studio LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to support it, and isn't liable for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
